Official confirmation, check! Mom got her prenatal samples, her “don’t eat” list, and an appointment for our first ultrasound!
It just hit her. Being pregnant is really like turning 18 or 21, or learning to ride a bike, or falling in love. Mom is going through a rite of passage like so many women before her. She had no idea that these nine months were going to be such a surreal experience. But now she knows this is a defining moment of her life. And mine.
So far we can’t complain! Mom actually lost four pounds in the week before we got the big news and the only unpleasant symptom is some heartburn.
Between half and two thirds of pregnant women develop morning sickness. Symptoms usually start around the sixth week so we’ll see what happens in the next week or two. ;p On the plus side, morning sickness usually fizzles out around the end of the first trimester.
